The parable of The Lost Sheep is a Heavenly Parable.
The parable demonstrates the mystery of God’s agape love to
mankind.
The sheep in this context represents mankind.
The lost sheep represents a sinner that has gone astray from
God’s presence.
The ninety-nine sheep in this context represents the
self-righteous who need no repentance.
The Shepherd in this context represents Jesus Christ who is
the Shepherd and Bishop of our souls.
There is a great and abundant rejoicing in heaven when a
soul is won into God’s kingdom.
The parable portrays the fact that God’s infinite mercy can
never cease nor fail.
It also portrays the fact that God our Heavenly Father never
wish any of His children to perish.
