Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king (1 Peter 2:17).

The word, “Honor” simply means to show respect to others especially the elders and leaders in authority, to love and reverent God in life. When you learn to honor others especially the elders and leaders, definitely others will also honor you in due time because honor begets honor in life. In the opening text, the Bible tells us that honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king. Of course, every Christian should endeavor to take note of the fact that honor begets honor in life and ministry. It is what you sow into life that you also reap in life (Galatians 6:7). Life can only give one what he deserves and merits by grace. Whoever learns to honor others is absolutely honored by God in life forever.

Even God Himself honors those who honor Him in life. That is why the Bible says in 1 Samuel 2:30, “Therefore the Lord God of Israel says: ‘I said indeed that your house and the house of your father would walk before Me forever.’ But now the Lord says: ‘Far be it from Me; for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me shall be lightly esteemed.” Therefore, whoever honors God in life and ministry by being obedient and submissive to Him will also be honored by God in life. Life can never be friendly and favorable to rebels and disobedient to God and His Word of life. Take note of the fact that honor absolutely begets honor in life forever.

God wants you to honor His Word because His Word is life to you. That is the reason why the Word of God stated it clearly to us in Romans 13:7 thus, “Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.” In fact, a Christian should learn to honor elders, kings and those in leadership of authority by giving glory to God in his life and ministry. When a Christian honors others, directly or indirectly, he is honoring God because His Word said so in life. You cannot separate God from His Word of life because God’s Word is absolutely God Himself operating in the life of man forever (John 1:1).

Daily Tip: Honor begets honor; therefore, a Christian should absolutely learn to honor God and others especially the elders, kings and leaders in leadership authority in life forever. Shalom!
