DAY 2 TUESDAY: FEBRUARY 2021

LIVE YOUR LIFE FOR JESUS CHRIST!

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me (Galatians 2:20).

A Christian does not own his life because Jesus Christ has already bought him over to Himself with a price in life (1 Corinthians 6:20). Therefore, he is not expected to live his life for himself but to the glory of God in Christ Jesus. The Bible says in the opening text that I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Of course, every Christian should endeavor to take note of the fact that God indeed wants him to always live his life for Jesus Christ. Hence, a life that is lived for Jesus Christ is absolutely a life that is lived to the glory of God, the Father in life forever.

Jesus Christ bought a Christian over to Himself with a price, and that price symbolizes His blood which is His own life He laid on the cross. That is why the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:15, “And He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.” Therefore, the death of Jesus Christ on the cross was a replacement for the supposed eternal death of a Christian in life. Jesus Christ died on the cross for the sake of a Christian so that he will no longer live for himself in life. The life a Christian now lives belongs to Jesus Christ and not for himself in life. A life automatically becomes more meaningful when it is absolutely lived for Jesus Christ to the glory of God in life forever.

Indeed, it was because of this theology that prompted Apostle Paul to state emphatically in Philippians 1:21 thus, “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” In fact, through the death, burial, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ, death has now become great gain and benefit to every Christian in life. When one lives for himself, he loses everything including his own life but when one lives his life for Christ Jesus; he gains everything including his own life. The secret and key to your life is not in your hand but it is in the Hand of Jesus Christ in life. He is the One that owns the key of life and death forever (Revelation 1:18).

Daily Tip: A Christian should never live for himself because when he does he loses everything including his own life. But he should endeavor to live his life for Jesus Christ and gain everything including his own life forever. Shalom!

Golden Text: He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it (Matthew 10:39).
