DAY 4 MONDAY: JANUARY 2021

THE ESSENCE OF JESUS CHRIST’S DEATH!

For to this end Christ died and rose and lived again, that He might be the Lord of both the dead and the living (Romans 14:9).

Jesus Christ died for you to be freed from sin and lived your life unto His righteousness. The righteousness of God is in you through the essence of Jesus Christ’s death on the cross in life. The Bible says in the opening text that for to this end Christ died and rose and lived again, that He might be the Lord of both the dead and the living. Of course, every Christian should endeavor to take note of the fact that the essence of Jesus Christ’s death is for him to live the fullness of life. Every Christian had been set free from sin, death and damnation because Jesus Christ took his place and gave him His life to enjoy. Hence, the death of Jesus Christ on the cross fully demonstrates absolutely His Lordship over the living and the dead in life forever.

One of the essences of Jesus Christ’s death is for us to be freed from sin and its condemnation in life. It is the power of sin that put man in bondage and brought death and condemnation in life. That is why the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:21, “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” Therefore, Jesus Christ took our sins and died on the cross so that we might become the righteousness of God in life. The righteousness of God had been imputed into the life of a Christian through the essence of Jesus Christ’s death in life. It is the death of Jesus Christ that granted man salvation in life forever.

Another essence of Jesus Christ’s death on the cross is to liberate us and destroy the works of Satan in our lives. That is the reason why the Bible says in 1 John 3:8, “He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” In fact, the reason why Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins was to destroy the works of Satan in our lives. Satan the devil has no power over a Christian’s life because his works and deeds have been destroyed already through Jesus Christ’s death on the cross of Calvary in life forever.

Daily Tip: The essence of Jesus Christ’s death is to liberate us and destroy the works of Satan in our lives by imputing on us the righteousness of God in life forever. Shalom!

Golden Text: And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses (Colossians 2:13).
