DAY 29 THUESDAY: DECEMBER 2020

PRAYING IN THE POWER OF GOD’S SPIRIT!

So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts (Zechariah 4:6).

Indeed, praying in the flesh is ineffective and powerless in life. There is no one that prays in the flesh and gets results in life. The Bible says in the opening text that so he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts. Of course, every Christian should endeavor to take note of the fact that God indeed wants him to always pray in the power of His Spirit in life. God wants you as a Christian to pray in the power of the Holy Spirit because that is the only way one can get results in life. Hence whenever a Christian prays in the power of God’s Spirit, he absolutely receives grace for strength and breakthroughs in life forever.

When Jesus Christ resurrected and He was about to ascend into heaven, He promised His disciples thus, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8). Therefore, without the power of God’s Spirit, a Christian can never pray and succeed in life and ministry. A life devoid of the power of the Holy Spirit is indeed dead, powerless and ineffective in life. It is the Holy Spirit’s power that makes one’s prayer life to be vibrant, full of evidence and results. A life that is lived devoid of the power of God’s Spirit is absolutely a life that is lived in shame and failure in life forever.

It is the Holy Spirit that helps us to overcome our witnesses and empowers us to pray effectively according to God’s purpose and will in life. That is the reason why the Bible says in Romans 8:26, “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” In fact, it is the Holy Spirit that overcomes our weaknesses in the flesh and also constantly intercedes on our behalf through the spirit’s realm in life. Without the power of God’s Spirit, we cannot really pray and overcome challenges in life forever.

Daily Tip: Every Christian needs the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome his challenges in the flesh and prays effectively according to God’s purpose and will for his life and ministry forever. Shalom!

Golden Text: Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high (Luke 24:49).
