DAY 19 THURSDAY: NOVEMBER 2020

CHRIST’S COMMUNION OF HIS BODY AND BLOOD!

For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me (1 Corinthians 11:23-24).

Jesus Christ’s Communion of His body and blood is mandatory for every Christian irrespective of denominational affiliations in life. The Bible says in the opening text that for I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me. Of course, every Christian should endeavor to take note of the fact that God indeed wants him to always partake in the communion of Jesus Christ’s body and blood in life. Hence, the communion of Jesus Christ’s body and blood is indeed the mystery and secret of a Christian’s deliverance and salvation in life forever.

The Communion or Lord Supper as the case may be for some denominations is holistic in life. It involves the body and blood of Jesus Christ in life. That is why the Bible stated further thus, “In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me” (vs. 25). Therefore, whenever a Christian partakes in the communion service, he is directly or indirectly fulfilling Jesus Christ’s command here on earth in life. Jesus Christ’s Communion must entail both the bread and the cup which truly represents His body and blood in life. The body and blood of Jesus Christ is the full redemption of a Christian’s mystical life forever.

The Communion or Lord Supper is a mystery of divine blessing that involves the body and the blood of Jesus Christ in life. That is the reason why the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 10:16, “The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?” In fact, the bread represents the body of Jesus Christ that was broken for our sins while the cup represents the blood of Jesus Christ that was shared for the remission of our sins in life. The Communion is divinely blessed by God for every Christian to partake in the Lord’s Table in life forever.

Daily Tip: Every Christian should take note of the fact that the Communion or Lord Supper is mandatory for him to partake in the Lord’s Table forever. Shalom!

Golden Text: For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes (1 Corinthians 11:26).
