DO NOT ISOLATE YOURSELF FROM THE CHURCH!
You also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ (1 Peter 2:5).
Every Christian is a member of God’s large family which is the church of God in life. This large family of God is divided into two folds namely; the militant and the triumphant church in life. God does not want you to isolate yourself from His church in life. The Bible says in the opening text that you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. Of course, every Christian should endeavor to take note of the fact that God does not want him to isolate himself from His church in life. Hence, the church of God is indeed the last hope of the common man in life forever.
The Bible gave us a vivid account of the early church during the time of Herod the king (Acts 12). Herod stretched forth his hand and killed James, the brother of John with the sword in life. To further please the Jews, he also stretched forth his hand and arrested Peter for the same execution in life. But thank God that the church intervened thus, “…but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church” (Acts 12:5). Therefore, it was the grace of the church that actually saved Apostle Peter from execution in the evil hand of Herod, the king of the Jews in life. The church is of course the spiritual battle axe of God against the kingdom of darkness in life forever.
As a Christian, it is suicidal for you to isolate yourself from the church because you can become an easy prey for the devil in life. That is why the Bible says in Hebrews 10:25, “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” In fact, whenever a Christian isolates himself from the church, he becomes a lone ranger and easy prey to the devil and his cohorts in life. A Christian should take note of the fact that iron sharpens iron in life (Proverbs 27:17). Therefore, every Christian is indeed a partner of the grace of God that covers the church in life forever.
Daily Tip: God expects your full participation in the church because it is suicidal for one to isolate himself from God’s grace that covers the church in life forever. Shalom!
Golden Text: Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God (Ephesians 2:19).
