DAY 26 WEDNESDAY: AUGUST 2020

RECEIVING THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT!

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth (Acts 1:8).

A Christian without the Holy Spirit’s power is like a lone soldier that is armed less in life. When you fail to have the power of the Holy Spirit, you automatically become powerless and vulnerable to every form of attacks in life. The Bible says in the opening text that you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. Of course, every Christian should endeavor to take note of the fact that God has graciously given him the power of the Holy Spirit in life forever.

The power to bind and loose had been given to every Christian by Jesus Christ in life. That is why the Bible says in Matthew 18:18, “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” Therefore, the power to bind and loose both here on earth and in heaven had been given to a Christian by God through the power of the Holy Spirit in life. Any Christian who wants to operate in this realm effectively and optimally will definitely need the power of the Holy Spirit in life. A Christian absolutely needs the power of the Holy Spirit in life forever.

Again, the Holy Spirit’s power gives authority to the Christians to subdue the powers of the enemies in life. There is no way a Christian can subdue the powers of the enemies without the Holy Spirit in life. That is the reason why the Bible says in Luke 10:19, “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” In fact, whenever a Christian receives the power and the authority of the Holy Spirit, he vehemently trample on serpents, scorpions and all the powers of Satan, the enemy devoid of being hurts in life. Hence, it is the power of the Holy Spirit that makes a Christian in life forever.

Daily Tip: Every Christian should have the power of the Holy Spirit to bind, loose and subdue the powers of Satan, the enemy in life forever. Shalom!

Golden Text: They will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover (Luke 16:18).
