DEALING WITH THE SPIRIT OF ANGER!
Be angry, and do not sin: do not let the sun go down on your wrath (Ephesians 4:26).
Anger itself is never a sin but it can lead one into sin if not properly handled in life. Jesus Himself got angry when the temple of God was misused and abused by men for selfish reasons in life. The Bible recorded that He took a whip, drove them out of the temple and overturned the tables of the money changers (Mark 11:15-17). The Bible says in the opening text that be angry, and do not sin: do not let the sun go down on your wrath. Of course, every Christian should endeavor to take note of the fact that God indeed wants him to always deal with the spirit of anger in life. Hence, he is hereby admonished as a necessity to strive as much as possible in dealing with the spirit of anger promptly in his life forever.
Failure to deal with the spirit of anger can forfeit your life and ministry. Moses, as great as he was could not fulfill his ministry due to anger in life (Numbers 12:3). That is why the Bible says in Numbers 20:12, “Then the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, ‘Because you did not believe Me, to hallow Me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.” Therefore, an uncontrolled anger can easily disconnect one from God, helpers and destiny in life. The ability to control one’s anger definitely leads one into great wisdom in life forever.
A wise man controls and deals with the spirit of anger by using God’s Word as his weapon in life. But a fool falls prey to the spirit of anger in life. That is the reason why the Bible says in Ecclesiastes 7:9, “Do not hasten in your spirit to be angry, for anger rests in the bosom of fools.” In fact, an uncontrolled anger rests in the bosom of fools while wisdom drives it far from the wise in life. When the Bible says that do not let the sun go down on your wrath, it simply means that do not let the spirit of anger take control of you till the next day in life. Indeed, every Christian should be wise enough to promptly deal with the spirit of anger in life forever.
Daily Tip: Control your anger by dealing with the spirit of anger as soon as possible without delay using God’s Word as your weapon of life. Shalom!
Golden Text: And Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly before the rock; and he said to them, “Hear now, you rebels! Must we bring water for you out of this rock?” (Numbers 20:10).
