DAY 23 TUESDAY: JUNE 2020

JESUS CHRIST SET YOU FREE FROM SIN!

And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God (1 Corinthians 6:11).

Jesus Christ had set you free from sin and its power in life. A Christian is no longer under the dominion of sin and its forces because Jesus Christ had liberated and set him free from it in life. In the opening text, the Bible says that such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. Of course, every Christian should endeavor to take note of the fact that Jesus Christ had set him free from sin and its damnation in life. A Christian had been totally set free from sin and its dominion in life forever.

The Bible made it clear vividly that Jesus Christ was used as propitiation for our sins in life. He took away our sin and its condemnation, and gave us His life in abundance. That is why the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:21, “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” Therefore, Jesus Christ who is the Son of God took our place of sin and became God’s righteousness for us as Christians in life. Jesus Christ paid the penalty for our sin in order to set us free from its power of condemnation in life forever.

Since Jesus Christ was used as propitiation for our sin, it therefore means that He had the power to liberate and set us free from its dominion and condemnation in life. That is why the Bible says in John 8:36, “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” In fact, Jesus Christ is the only One who could set man free from death and condemnation because of His deified divinity in life. It is Jesus Christ who is the Son of God that has the power to set man totally free from the dominion of sin and its damnation in life. The power that liberated you from the dominion and condemnation of sin is in you in Christ Jesus. Therefore, let Jesus Christ take dominion of your life forever.

Daily Tip: When you learn to submit and surrender your life to Jesus Christ; therefore, you will be totally free from the dominion of sin and its condemnation in life forever. Shalom!

Golden Text: And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness (Romans 6:18).
