THE ELECTION OF GOD MUST SURELY STAND!
For this is the word of promise: “At this time I will come and Sarah shall have a son.” And not only this, but when Rebecca also had conceived by one man, even by our father Isaac (for the children not yet being born, nor having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works but of Him who calls) (Romans 9:9-11).
Whatever God wills must surely stand in life. The Bible says in the opening text that for this is the word of promise: “At this time I will come and Sarah shall have a son.” And not only this, but when Rebecca also had conceived by one man, even by our father Isaac (for the children not yet being born, nor having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works but of Him who calls). Of course, every Christian should endeavor to take note of the fact that the election of God concerning his life and destiny must surely stand. Hence, the election of God is bound to stand in a Christian’s life forever.
The word, “Election” in this context is not the worldly type of politics but a divine arrangement of events even before the foundations of the world in life (Ephesians 1:4). In the opening text, the Bible says that the son of Sarah, Isaac was elected by God to be the heir apparent of the promise in life. In the same way, Jacob who was the younger twin brother to Esau was also elected by God to continue the promise of God to Abraham in life. Therefore, every Christian by divine election is a descendant of Abraham through the seed of the promise which culminated in Jesus Christ in life forever.
Every Christian is divinely elected by God to be a partaker of the promise of God through Abraham in life. That is the reason why the Bible says in 2 Peter 1:10, “Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble.” In fact, through obedience to the will and command of God, a Christian thereby makes his election stand sure in life. God has called you as His heir apparent through Jesus Christ in life. Therefore, it is your duty to make your call and election stand sure through obedience by faith in life. By the absolute obedience to the commandments of God through His Word of life, a Christian knowingly and unknowingly makes his call and election stand sure in life forever.
Daily Tip: A Christian is part and parcel of God’s election; therefore, it is his duty to make the call and election of God stand sure in his life forever. Shalom!
Golden Text: Knowing, beloved brethren, your election by God (1 Thessalonians 1:4).
