DAY 28 TUESDAY: APRIL 2020

DO NOT MAKE YOURSELF A JUDGE!

Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven (Luke 6:37).

A Christian should not for any reason make himself a judge over others because the consequence is very great in life. It is only God that is qualified to judge anyone because He is our Creator in life. In the opening text, the Bible says that Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Of course, every Christian should endeavor to take note of the fact that God indeed did not make him to be a judge over his neighbors in life. It is never the duty of anyone to judge his fellow neighbors because God is our final Arbiter in life. When you dare judge anyone, you are condemning yourself before God in life forever.

Jesus Christ did not judge anyone while He was on the surface of the earth in life. A woman that was caught in the very act of adultery was brought to Jesus Christ by her accusers who already judged and condemned her in life. But Jesus Christ said to the accusers thus, “…He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first” (John 8:7). They all dropped their stones and left shamefully. Then, Jesus Christ said to her, “…Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more” (John 8:11). Therefore, whoever judges his fellow neighbors is indeed guilty of the greatest sin before God in life. The reason why no one is permitted to judge his fellow neighbors is because nobody is totally freed from sin by human standard in life forever.

In fact, there is no one on earth that has the right and privilege to judge anyone in life. Therefore, you should never arrogate God’s powers and privileges to yourself in life. It is suicidal for you to dare such a thing in life. That is the reason why the Bible says in Romans 14:4, “Who are you to judge another’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls.  Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand.” In fact, it is absolutely only God who is our Heavenly Father that has the final say and judgment in life. Therefore, everyone should remember the parable told by Jesus Christ concerning a Pharisee and tax collector who went into the temple to pray in life. The Bible records that the Pharisee condemned the tax collector and praised himself before God, but the tax collector humbly asked God for forgiveness in life. God had mercy on the tax collector and forgave him but rejected the Pharisee and his arrogant prayer in life forever (Luke 18:9-14).

Daily Tip: As a Christian, you should never dare judge another because it is not your responsibility and duty to judge. Therefore, be warned forever. Shalom!

Golden Text: Judge not, that you be not judged (Matthew 7:1).
