DAY 9 THURSDAY: APRIL 2020

YOUR CITIZENSHIP IS IN HEAVEN!

For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ (Philippians 3:20).

A Christian’s citizenship is in heaven because he had been born again in life. When you are born again, you are no longer a citizen of this world but a citizen of Zion, the heavenly Jerusalem in life. In the opening text, the Bible tells us that our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Of course, every Christian should endeavor to take note of the fact that his citizenship is in heaven. A Christian is from above where Jesus Christ is seated over principalities and powers in life. Every Christian should take note of the fact that he is a citizen of Zion, the heavenly Jerusalem where Jesus Christ is the Head and seated above all principalities and powers in life forever.

Whoever that is born again is born into Zion, the city of God in life. That is one of the reasons why a Christian should never conform to the standard of this world in life. That is why the Bible says in Psalm 87:5, “And of Zion it will be said, ‘This one and that one were born in her; and the Most High Himself shall establish her.” Therefore, it is absolutely in Zion, the heavenly Jerusalem a Christian is born and established in life by God, Almighty.  Everyone that is born again in Jesus Christ is indeed born into Zion which is the holy city of God in life. God has established you in Zion, His own city of heavenly Jerusalem in life. Therefore, a Christian’s citizenship is in heaven, the Zion city of God who is the Most High in life forever.

God has lifted you above all principalities and powers to sit with Jesus Christ in life. Of course, a Christian should be bold and confident like a lion in life (Proverbs 28:1). He is not expected to live in fear no matter the challenges of life. That is the reason why the Bible says in Ephesians 2:6, “And raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.” In fact, a Christian had been raised up together with Jesus Christ above all principalities and powers in life. Every Christian is made to sit together with Jesus Christ through redemption by the divine power of regeneration. God has given you authority in Christ Jesus in order to exercise dominion in life forever.

Daily Tip: Every Christian is a citizen of Zion, the heavenly Jerusalem, and the city of God who is the Most High in life forever. Shalom!

Golden Text: They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world (John 17:16).
