DAY 22 SUNDAY: MARCH 2020

JESUS CHRIST: THE LIVING WATER OF LIFE!

On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water (John 7:37-38).

Today is International Water’s Day celebration; a day set aside worldwide by the United Nations Organization to celebrate the importance of water to humanity in life. In fact, the importance of water can never be over emphasized in life. In the opening text, Jesus Christ declared emphatically that whoever thirsts should come to Him and drink freely in life. The Scripture says that out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. Of course, every Christian should endeavor to take note of the fact that Jesus Christ is indeed the Living Water of life forever.

Water is life and without water man cannot survive in life. In the same way, Jesus Christ is the Living Water and without Him, man cannot also survive in life. That is why Jesus Christ told the Samaritan woman in John 4:14 thus, “But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” Therefore, whoever drinks of the Living Water which is Jesus Christ can never die nor rot away in life. Jesus Christ is indeed the Living Water for man’s survival in life forever.

Also, everyone needs the Living Water to survive and continue his existence in life. That is the reason why the Bible tells us in Isaiah 55:1, “Oh! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.” In fact, the Living Water of life which is absolutely found in Jesus Christ for man’s eternal salvation is obtainable by grace in life. Jesus Christ who is the Living Water is the only One that can quench man’s thirst eternally. Therefore, everyone needs Him to survive in life forever. Happy International Water’s Day Celebration!

Daily Tip: Jesus Christ who is the Living Water is all you need to survive here and even hereafter in life forever. Shalom!

Golden Text: And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely (Revelation 22:17).
