THERE IS A GREAT PROFIT IN LABOR!
Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need (Ephesians 4:28).
Everyone is expected to know that there is a great profit in labor in life. Whoever labor with his hands is expected to have great fulfillment and enjoy the fruits of his labor in life. The reward for labor is wages because a laborer is worthy of his wages in life. The Bible says in the opening text that let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need. Of course, every Christian should endeavor to take note of the fact that there is absolutely a great profit in labor in life. Be delighted in laboring for the Lord in life forever.
Whoever fails to labor in life should expect the worst of poverty. Poverty is a by-product of laziness in life. Of course, there is dignity in labor in life. That is why the Bible says in Proverbs 14:23, “In all labor there is profit, but idle chatter leads only to poverty.” Therefore, whenever a Christian becomes diligent by laboring with his hands, he absolutely becomes a blessing to his generation in life. When a Christian fails to work, he becomes a burden to himself, to others and to the society at large. But absolute diligence in laboring with one’s hands brings total blessings in all ramifications of life forever.
Every Christian should endeavor to avoid laboring for selfish purpose in life. There is no amount of self effort in life that can make one rich because being wealthy in life takes the grace of God. That is the reason why the Bible cautions in Proverbs 23:4 thus, “Do not overwork to be rich; because of your own understanding, cease!” In fact, anyone who sincerely wants to experience genuine prosperity devoid of sorrow should humbly seek God’s guidance in life. The desperation to be rich overnight causes one into stealing, armed robbery, kidnapping and evil of all sorts in life. Such a life does not bring glory to God forever.
Daily Tip: There is dignity in labor; therefore, avoid the life of laziness and labor with your hands to the glory of God in life forever. Shalom!
Golden Text: Nor did we eat anyone’s bread free of charge, but worked with labor and toiled night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you (2 Thessalonians 3:8).
