DAY 22 SATURDAY: FEBRUARY 2020

GOD’S PEACE IN THE MIDST OF ADVERSITY!

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world (John 16:33).

We are living at a time of insecurity, terror, economic challenges and meltdown in life. People are living in fear because there is no more safety and succor from the government. Our leaders have failed us woefully in life. In fact in the midst of adversity, Jesus Christ promised us His peace in life. The Bible says in the opening text that these things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. Of course, every Christian should endeavor to take note of the fact that God has indeed given him His peace even in the midst of adversity in life forever.

Jesus promised His disciples peace even in the midst of adversity in life. No matter the terror, insecurity, economic challenges and meltdown, He has promised to always be with you and comfort you in every side of life. That is why the Bible says in Psalm 23:4, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” Therefore, whenever a Christian is comforted with God’s rod and staff, he experiences peace even in the midst of adversity in life. God can never abandon His children no matter the situations and challenges in life forever.

The Scriptures give us a vivid case study through the life of the three young Hebrew men that were cast into the fiery furnace by King Nebuchadnezzar because of their faith and steadfastness in God in life. The Bible recorded that the King confessed openly thus, “Look! He answered, ‘I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God” (Daniel 3:25). In fact, God is always available for His children with divine peace even in the midst of adversity in life. God’s divine peace in the midst of adversity is absolutely sure in life forever.

Daily Tip: No matter the adversity and challenges, God’s peace is always there to comfort a Christian in life forever. Shalom!
