DAY 18 TUESDAY: FEBRUARY 2020

GIVE NO ROOM TO FEAR!

For the thing I greatly fear has come upon me, and what I dreaded has happened to me (Job 3:25).

Fear is a torment and a killer; it kills faster than any deadly disease that one can ever imagine in life. A Christian should never give room to fear. When a Christian gives room to fear, he lives a life of bondage. Anyone who lives in bondage is limited in every capacity. The Bible says in the opening text that the thing I greatly fear has come upon me, and what I dreaded has happened to me. This clearly shows that Job was living in fear of the unknown. Of course, every Christian should endeavor to take note of the fact that God indeed does not want him to give any room to fear in life forever.

God does not want us to live in fear as Christians because whoever lives in fear is limiting the power of God in his life. That is why the Bible says in 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” Therefore, fear is a tormenting spirit that limits one’s power of love and as well puts the mind in total bondage in life. An adage says that a coward dies many times before his death. Therefore, anyone who gives room to fear is like a coward who dies many times in life forever.

Many a time, Jesus Christ rebuked His disciples for being afraid because He knew the repercussions and the consequences of living in fear in life. That is the reason why the Bible says in 1 John 4:18, “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” In fact, fear limits the power of love with self-control and makes ones totally insane in life. Fear will always limit man’s potentials and abilities in the Lord forever.

Daily Tip: A Christian should never give room to fear but he should be confident and courageous in the Lord forever. Shalom!

Golden Text: The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1).
