DAY 27 MONDAY: JANUARY 2020

JESUS CHRIST WENT ABOUT DOING GOOD!

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him (Acts 10:38).

The act of doing good is of God, and that is what Jesus Christ came to accomplish in our lives. Satan can never do good to anyone because he is synonymous with evil. The Bible says in the opening text that how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. Of course, every Christian should endeavor to take note of the fact that Jesus Christ went about doing good in life. God wants every Christian to be involved in the act of doing good as well in life forever.

The Scriptures described vividly Satan as a thief. A thief can never do good to anyone except to steal, kill and destroy. That is why the Bible says in John 10:10, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” Therefore, Satan is indeed a first-class thief with three main purposes namely; stealing, killing and destruction but Jesus Christ is a Good Shepherd that gives life in abundance. Jesus Christ came with the act of doing good to mankind, and that is why He came to give us life in abundance forever.

Jesus Christ whole-heartedly declared His manifesto to the world which was centered on doing good to mankind thus, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed” (Luke 4:18). In fact, the mission of Jesus Christ was preaching the gospel to the poor; healing the brokenhearted; proclaiming liberty to the captives; recovering of sight to the blind; and setting liberty to the oppressed in life. Therefore, the act of doing good is of God and not of Satan in life forever.

Daily Tip: The act of doing good is of God and not of Satan; therefore, learn to always appreciate every good thing the Lord has done in your life daily and forever. Shalom!

Golden Text: Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people (Matthew 9:35).
