BE AN IMITATOR OF GOD!
Therefore be imitators of God as dear children (Ephesians 5:1).
It is God’s will that we imitate Him as Christians. It is only when you imitate Him as a Christian that you can be His dearest child. Just like a good earthly father wants his child to imitate him, in the same way God the Heavenly Father wants you as a Christian to imitate Him in every way. The Bible tells us in the opening text that therefore be imitators of God as dear children. Until you imitate God, you can never be like Him. Of course, every Christian should endeavor to take note of the fact that God wants him to imitate Him in every way of life forever.
Jesus Christ was a good imitator of the Heavenly Father. That was the reason why He was able to fulfill His ministry here on earth. That is why the Bible says in John 5:19, “Then Jesus answered and said to them, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.” Therefore, it is indeed when a Christian imitate God in every way of life, he can as well be doing what the Father does in all ramifications. Jesus Christ imitated the Father in everything and in every way of life forever.
In fact, for us as Christians to imitate God in everything, there is need for us to give room for the Holy Spirit to lead and direct us. Without the Holy Spirit, we can never be able to imitate God. That is the reason why the Bible says in John 14:17, “The Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.” In fact, it is the Spirit of truth which is the Holy Spirit that knows God very well and teaches us about Him in life. Therefore, every Christian should strive as much as possible to be a very good imitator of the Heavenly Father forever.
Daily Tip: Every Christian is expected to imitate God through the leading of the Holy Spirit in life forever. Shalom!
Golden Text: Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on my own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works (John 14:10).
