AVOID DISTRACTIONS WHEN PRAYING!
So Ahab went up to eat and drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; then he bowed down on the ground, and put his face between his knees (1 Kings 18:42).
A Christian should avoid distractions whenever he is praying to God. God wants us as Christians to constantly commune with Him and be focused in prayers. The more you spend time with God in prayers, the more effective and fervent you become in the spirit. The Bible says in the opening text that Ahab went up to eat and drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; then he bowed down on the ground, and put his face between his knees. This simply means that Elijah avoided distractions of all kinds and became fully focused in God by communing with Him fervently.
As a Christian, for your prayer to be effective and fervent, you should learn to avoid distractions of any kind. God expects you to be focused and communed with Him fervently. That is why prayer is a very serious business between you and your Creator in life. That is why the Bible says in James 5:16, “…The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” It is indeed prayer that is focused, fervent with a pure heart that is effective and availed much in life. God wants your prayer to be focused in order to achieve greater results.
The Bible tells us about King Hezekiah when Prophet Isaiah gave him the prophecy of God that he should put his house in order because he will surely die. The Bible recorded that King Hezekiah prayed effectively and fervently before God thus, “Then he turned his face toward the wall, and prayed to the Lord” (2 Kings 20:2). This simply shows that King Hezekiah avoided distractions of all kinds and became fully focused in God by communing with Him fervently. That was the reason why he got an instant and positive result from God.
Daily Tip: When a Christian prays effectively and fervently by avoiding distractions of all kinds in life; he will surely achieve greater and positive results from God. Shalom!
