INTERCEDING FOR THE BRETHREN IS GOD’S WILL!
Moreover, as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you; but I will teach you the good and the right way (1 Samuel 12:23).
It is the will of God that every Christian should endeavor to intercede for the brethren. When you fail to intercede for the brethren, you are disobeying the will of God for your life. The Bible says in the opening text that as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you; but I will teach you the good and the right way. Interceding for the brethren makes you mature as a Christian. Therefore, it is absolutely the will of God for every Christian to intercede constantly for the brethren.
When you read the book of Acts chapter 12, you will see vividly the scenario of what happened to the early church. King Herod stretched forth his hand and killed James the brother of John with a sword in order to please the Jews. He went further to arrest Apostle Peter for the same execution. But the Bible says, “Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church” (Acts 12:5). It is vividly clear that it was the intercession of the brethren that saved the life of Apostle Peter from the sword of King Herod.
Interceding for God’s brethren is the will of God for the church and all Christians. We should not fold our hands and watch Satan invading and destroying lives of the brethren for just no reason. That is the reason why Apostle Paul told Timothy his beloved son in the Lord in 1 Timothy 2:1, “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men.” Therefore, every Christian is hereby admonished to constantly intercede for the brethren because it is absolutely the will of God.
Daily Tip: Every Christian should endeavor to intercede for the brethren because it is the will of God for him. Shalom!
Golden Text: Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven (Matthew 18:19).
