Who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life (2 Corinthians 3:6).

As Christians, it is important we have the right attitude towards God’s Word and His ministers. God has called His ministers and made a new covenant with them; that covenant is not of the letter that kills but of the Spirit that gives life. The ministers are the oracles of God. In fact, God speaks through them to bless His children. Therefore whenever they are preaching the Word of God, we should not see it as the Word coming from the letter that kills but from the Spirit that gives life. God’s ministers utter utterances from the Spirit realm.

Also, the ministers of God are different vessels used by God for different purposes. No wonder Apostle Paul told Timothy his beloved son in the Lord in 2 Timothy 2:21, “Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, blessed, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.” God has called His ministers as vessels of honor, blessed, sanctified and useful in the ministry. As ministers, we should be aware that we are God’s oracles and mouth-piece to proclaim His Word to the world. A Christian should never downplay God’s utterances spoken through His ministers of the gospel.

Furthermore, the Bible tells us in 1 Peter 4:11 thus, “If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracle of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever.” Indeed, God speaks through His ministers for doctrine, reproof, correction, instruction in righteousness, that the Church of God may be complete and thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Corinthians 3:16-17). God’s ministers are expected to proclaim the utterances of God in absolute humility by constantly giving Him all the glory.

Daily Tip: God speaks through His ministers to bless and equip the church for the end time ministry. Therefore, every Christian should endeavor to listen and harken to the voice of God through them. Shalom!

Golden Text: Now then, we are ambassadors of Christ, as though God was pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled with God (2 Corinthians 5:20).
