DAY 4 TUESDAY: SEPTEMBER 2018

AT YOUR WORD!

But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your Word I will let down the net. And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking (Luke 5:5-6).

Jesus Christ got to the lake of Gennesaret where multitude came out to hear the Word of God from Him. He saw two boats on the lake and entered the boat that belongs to Simon Peter. The boat was let into the water and He used it as a platform to preach the Word of God to the multitude. After the sermon, He said to Simon Peter to let down the net for a catch. But Simon Peter answered, “We have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your Word I will let down the net” (Luke 5:5). When he obeyed, he caught large number of fishes and as a result the net was breaking. This simply shows that obedience to God brings forth great result in life.

The Bible further told us about a nobleman whose son was severely sick at Capernaum. He met Jesus Christ concerning the son who was seriously ill to the point of death. The Bible says that Jesus Christ said to him in John 4:50, “Go your way; your son lives. So the man believed the Word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way.” As he was going, he met his servants who told him that his son was perfectly well. When he inquired at what time his son got well? They told him that it was yesterday at the seventh hour. The man knew that was the exact time Jesus Christ spoke to him that his son lives. This also shows that obedience to God brings forth healing and holistic well being.

Every Christian needs to believe God at His Word. Whatever situations, challenges and predicaments you are passing through; there is God’s Word concerning it. Take God at His Word concerning that problem and challenge. God’s Word does not fail no matter the situations and challenges. The potency of God’s Word is able to set you free and deliver you from life challenges. God’s Word is God Himself operating in the lives of men (John 1:1).

Daily Tip: Believing God and taking Him at His Word is the greatest weapon of a Christian against the devil and life challenges. Shalom!

Golden Text: For the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of the soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).
