For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through is poverty might become rich (2 Corinthians 8:9).

You are a child of God; an heir of God and joint-heir with Christ Jesus (Romans 8:17). The Bible says that God our heavenly Father is the Creator of heaven and earth, the Owner of the universe including you (Psalm 24:1). The Scripture further tells us in Haggai 2:8, “The silver is Mine, says the Lord of hosts.” God, who is the Owner of the universe, owns the gold, silver, precious stone, and the entire wealth of heaven and earth. This same God happens to be your Father, the Creator of heaven and earth.

Therefore, it is an aberration for you to be a child of the One who owns all the wealth of the entire universe; and you are living a life of lack and poverty. The Bible says that Jesus Christ became poor for your sake so that you might become wealthy and prosperous in everything. The life of lack and want is not what God wishes any of His children. No wonder Apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 3:21, “…for all things are yours.”

In fact, God wants us to prosper both physically and spiritually. The life of prosperity and abundance is the covenant of the promise of God through Jesus Christ to every Christian. Of course the life of poverty, lack and want does not bring glory to God; and whatever that will not bring glory to God is never God’s wish for you as a Christian. That is why the Bible tells us in 3 John 1:2, “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” This is exactly what God wished for all His children including you. Therefore, you are expected as a Christian to live a life of prosperity through Jesus Christ.

Daily Tip: Jesus Christ became poor for your sake so that you might become rich in Christ’s sake. Therefore, pronounce a curse to the root and foundation of poverty in your family and lineage. Shalom!
