DAY 4 SATURDAY: AUGUST 2018

THE FATHER’S LOVE!

In that day you will ask in my name, and I do not say to you that I shall pray the Father for you; for the Father Himself loves you, because you have love Me, and have believed that I came forth from God (John 16:26-27).

God loves us so much with an eternal love. A Christian must have the conviction that God loves him and He is ever willing to do for him whatever he is requesting for in His Name. That is why the Bible tells us in Romans 8:32, “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him  also freely give us all things?” in fact, God made the greatest and utmost sacrifice for our redemption simply because He loves us dearly. There is nothing God cannot do for us or give to us if only we ask in His Name because His love for us is agape in Greek context.

Of course, God through His love gave us the opportunity to approach and speak to Him directly in the Name of Jesus Christ. Christians do not need intermediaries or angels to approach God. When Jesus Christ died on the cross, the veil that separated the holies in the temple was torn from top to bottom (Matthew 27:51). The barrier between man and God was broken and destroyed through the death of Jesus Christ on the cross. Immediately, Jesus Christ cried out and said, “It is finished!” (John 19:30). This was the agony of sorrow and bitterness submerged in love.

In fact, the Father through His love for you, made all efforts to reconcile man to Himself. That is why Jesus Christ said in John 15:13, “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” As Christians, we have the confidence to approach the throne of God without hindrance or barrier. No wonder Hebrew 4:16 says thus, “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” The love of the Father broke the barrier of enmity through Jesus Christ.

Daily Tip: The Father loves you dearly and He has done the greatest and utmost sacrifice for your redemption and salvation. Shalom!

Golden Text: But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).
