By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith (Hebrews 11:7).

The Bible recorded that God directed Noah to build an ark because He wanted to bring judgment upon the earth. When Noah was building the ark, the people laughed at him because they never believed that God would ever destroy the earth with water. But by faith, Noah obeyed God and built the ark. When he had finished building the ark, God instructed him thus, “You shall take with you seven each of every clean animal, a male and his female; two each of animals that are unclean, a male and his female; also seven each of birds of the air, male and female, to keep the species alive on the face of all the earth” (Genesis 7:2-3).

By faith, Noah obeyed God and faithfully carried out all instructions given to him. As soon as he diligently carried out all instructions, God shut the door of the ark. The cloud and the wind started, and there was a heavy rain that lasted for forty days and nights without stopping. The more the water covers the earth, the more the ark keeps floating on top of the water. The earth was flooded by the water and killed every living thing both humans and animals. Only Noah and his household survived simply because Noah obeyed God by faith. No wonder the Bible says that without faith, man can never be able to please God (Hebrews 11:6).

In fact, the ark that Noah built was symbolic of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the ark of God for the salvation of man. No wonder the Bible says in John 3:18, “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” Jesus Christ is our refuge and strong tower in times of trouble. In Him, we find safety, deliverance and salvation. This is the right time to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Savior if you have not done so because tomorrow may be too late. It is well with your soul!
