THE COVENANT OF HIS BODY AND BLOOD!
For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when he had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take eat; this is my body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me (1 Corinthians 11:23-24).
The Communion is one of the church ordinances which every Christian is expected to participate or partake regularly according to the command of Jesus Christ. It is a memorial of Jesus Christ sacrificial death on the cross over sin and victory over the power of Satan. Therefore, it is supposed to be taken by Christians who are already saved and not for the unbelievers. One of the ways to be one with Christ is to partake in the covenant of His body and blood. When a Christian partakes in the Communion, he is actually reaffirming his oneness with the Lord, and reminding himself of who he is in Christ Jesus.
Jesus Christ gave this as an instruction to the church, and He said, “Do this in remembrance of Me.” As we continue to do this, we remind ourselves of Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection. The Communion Service is the actual celebration of Jesus Christ’s life and dominion over sin and Satan. Whenever you are partaking in the Communion, let your focus be in Christ and declare that all is well. Remember that Jesus Christ died in order to set you free from bondage of sin and condemnation (John 8:36).
As a Christian, let your confession be bold and courageous; never you live in fear (2 Timothy 1:7). Jesus Christ has made you triumphant because greater is He that is in you than the one in the world (1John 4:4). We should always desire as Christians to participate in the Communion Service which is the covenant of Jesus Christ’s body and blood. The more we participate in the Communion Service, the often we remind ourselves of Jesus Christ’s sacrificial death and victory over sin and the power of Satan.
Daily Tip: The Communion is the covenant of Jesus Christ’s body and blood. Whenever a Christian participates, he joins himself with the Lord. Shalom!
Golden Text: For we, though many, are one bread and one body; for we all partake of that one bread (1 Corinthians 10:17).
