Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23).

The ability to think rightly depends on your ability to guard your heart against evil and negative thoughts. Every Christian is expected to guard his heart by thinking wisely because out of the heart springs the issues of life. Whenever you fail to guard your heart rightly, evil and negative thoughts can flood your heart and pollute your spirit. No wonder the Bible tells us in Matthew 9:4, “But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, why do you think evil in your hearts?” Jesus Christ‘s question shows that you have the ability to permit or allow different thoughts into your heart whether positive or negative. Therefore, think diligently by guarding your heart rightly.

In fact as Christians, we have to guard our hearts rightly by avoiding evil and negative thoughts. Therefore, we are expected to think diligently, hence, meditating carefully and purposefully. A Christian must not give room for evil and negative thoughts to flood his heart. That is the reason why Apostle Paul says in Romans 12:2, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Learn to be transformed always by your positive and godly thoughts in life.

Of course, a Christian has the ability to renew his mind by thinking rightly and wisely. When you give yourself to the Word of God and constantly meditate on it, your life will be transformed, renewed and empowered by the Holy Spirit for greater achievements and fulfillments in life. Therefore, change your way of thinking because as a man thinks in his heart, so he is (Proverbs 23:7). A Christian should kindly endeavor to always think wisely and diligently.

Daily Tip: Guard your heart against evil and negative thoughts, but think diligently and wisely always. Shalom!

Golden Text: Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praise worthy-meditate on these things (Philippians 4:8).
