But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).

Every Christian is expected to prove his love for God. God proved His love to us when He sent His only begotten Son to die for us while we were still sinners. When we did not in any way merit God’s love, He gave it to us in Christ Jesus. In the opening text, the Bible tells us that God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. It is indeed a matter of necessity for a Christian to demonstrate his love for God by humbly surrendering his entire life to the Lord. A Christian should endeavor to prove his love for God always.

Jesus Christ gave His disciples a new commandment, and that commandment is centered on love. That is why He said to the disciples thus, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another” (John 13:34). God expects you to love your neighbor as yourself. Whatever sacrifices and offerings you offer to God, without love for your neighbor, they are offered in vain. Agape love is the supreme and ultimate sacrifice any Christian can offer to the Lord. It absolutely has no rival or equal in life.

God expects you to live and walk in love because love suffers long and is kind; it does not envy; it does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil (1 Corinthians 13:4-5). That is the reason why the Bible says in 1 Peter 4:8, “And above all things have fervent love for one another, for ‘Love will cover a multitude of sins.” Agape love is the acid test to identify a genuine Christian in the Lord because there is absolutely nothing on earth that is as real, genuine and discipline like it (John 13:35).

Daily Tip: Every Christian is expected to prove his love for God by genuinely loving his neighbor as himself. Shalom!

Golden Text: And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing (1 Corinthians 13:3).
