These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full (John 15:11).

Joy is one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit listed in Galatians 5:22. A Christian is expected to be full of joy in life. There is a great difference between joy and happiness in life. Happiness is a fleshly attribute that is temporary but joy is a fruit of the Holy Spirit that is permanent and eternal in life. A drunkard and a fornicator can be happy but they are not full of joy in life. Joy is an attribute of a spirit filled believer that is bubbling in the Holy Ghost in life. Of course, every Christian should endeavor to take note of the fact that God indeed wants his joy to be full in life. A life that is full of joy is indeed a life that is bubbling in the Holy Spirit in life. Hence whenever a Christian is full of joy in life, he absolutely receives the grace for joyful habitation in the realm of the Spirit in life forever.

A Christian is not supposed to be sad and sorrowful no matter the situations and challenges of life. We saw this in the lives of Paul and Silas; even when they were beaten with rods, kept in prison with fetters on their feet and hands, they were still full of joy and praised God in life (Acts 16:22-26). Therefore, no matter the challenges, trials and obstacles in life, a Christian is expected to be full of joy by giving thanks to God always in life. Hence, every Christian should avoid the life of murmuring to living the life of thanksgiving to God in life. Thanksgiving and praise to God of course facilitate a joyful expression and moments with the Holy Spirit in a Christian’s life. A life that is devoid of joyful habitation of the Holy Spirit is absolutely a life that is in bondage forever.

Your life is a demonstration of the glory of God. The people around you should feel the presence of God through your impact and encouragement in life. You are the light of the world; a city that is set on a hill can never be hidden in life (Matthew 5:14). In fact, just like the glory of light can never be hidden, therefore, a Christian’s glory in life can never be quenched because it is hidden in Christ Jesus. A Christian that is full of joy is a light that attracts the world unto God in life. That is the reason why Jesus Christ said that he who believes in Me, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water in life (John 7:38). A life that is devoid of the joyful expression of the Holy Spirit is therefore a life that is of course full of bondages in life. But a life that is full of joy is absolutely a life that is indeed full of abundant peace of God in life forever.

Daily Tip: A Christian should absolutely be full of joy and give thanks to God always in his life forever. Shalom!
