This only I want to learn from you: did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? (Galatians 3:2-3).

When you study the entire book of Galatians, you will definitely understand the background where Apostle Paul was coming from. He chided the Galatia Christians because they allowed the infiltration of false teachers and prophets who diverted their attention from faith in the Word of God to works of the law. Apostle Paul said in the opening text, having begun in the Spirit, are you now made perfect by the flesh? It is the duty of every Christian to always continue to remain in faith alone.

As Christians, God expects us to continue in the faith because we are being saved by faith alone and not by works of the flesh. That is why the Bible says in Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” That is the reason why salvation is by grace because it is a gift from God and not by merit. Faith in Jesus Christ is by grace that saves the life of a Christian from condemnation.

A Christian is saved by faith alone in Jesus Christ. Of course, faith is a gift of eternal life. By faith, you receive the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus. That is the reason why the Bible tells us in Isaiah 64:6, “But we are all like an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are like filthy rags; we all fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.” It is only the righteousness of Jesus Christ that saves us through faith in the Lord. Therefore, every Christian is admonished to continuously remain in his faith which is by grace in Jesus Christ.

Daily Tip: Every Christian should continue to live in faith through Christ Jesus which is by grace in the Word of God. Shalom!

Golden Text: But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is the rewarder of those who diligently please Him (Hebrews 11:6).
