DAY 12 MONDAY: AUGUST 2019

REMEMBERING GOD IN YOUR YOUTHFUL DAYS!

Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, before the difficult days come, and the years draw near when you say, “I have no pleasure in them” (Ecclesiastes 12:1).

Today happens to be the International Youth’s day; a day set aside by the United Nations Organization to celebrate the importance of youths to the society. The youths are the leaders of today and also the leaders of tomorrow. The Bible tells us in the opening text that remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, before the difficult days come, and the years draw near when you say, “I have no pleasure in them.” Of course, every Christian should endeavor to take note of the fact that God wants him to always remember Him in the days of his youth. A youth is expected to always remember his God forever.

The Bible gave us a vivid account of the life of David. A young man filled with zeal for the Lord in his youthful days. In fact, because of his zeal and love for God, he killed Goliath who insulted the Army of Israel by defiling the Lord. That is why the Bible tells us in 1 Samuel 17:42, “And when the Philistine looked about and saw David, he disdained him; for he was only a youth, ruddy and good-looking.” Therefore, whenever a youth learns to always remember the Lord in his youthful days, the joy of the Lord becomes his everlasting strength. A youth without God is a living corpse that can never overcome his challenges and obstacles forever.

A Christian is expected to remember God in his youthful days because it is only Him that has the power to renew and make his life meaningful. That is the reason why the Bible says in Psalm 103:5, “Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” In fact, God constantly renews the strength of the youth just like the eagle’s who always remembers Him.  A Christian who wants his life to be renewed like the eagle’s should learn to always remember God in his youthful days forever. Happy International Youth’s Day Celebration!

Daily Tip: Anyone who wants to succeed in life and ministry should learn to always remember God in his youthful days forever. Shalom!

Golden Text: Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity (1 Timothy 4:12).
